National Qualification Code: SHB30315
The Certificate III in Nail Technology covers the skills and knowledge you need to enhance nail appearance. The nail technology skills in this course is focused on providing manicure and pedicure services, including the application of nail art and acrylic and gel nail enhancements. Nail technicians possess a range of well-developed technical and customer service skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. Customer service is covered in this course as an essential part of a nail technician’s role.

Course Duration
The course duration is equivalent 2 terms for 18 weeks, 9 weeks per term.




Start Date
The Certificate III in Nail Technology has a rolling intake so students can begin their study as soon as possible. Students will complete the introductory unit SHBXWHS001 Apply safe hygiene, health and work practices and then complete the remainder of the units according to the timetable to successfully complete the remaining units for the Certificate III in Nail Technology.
Course Delivery
The course is offered as a blended course with face-to-face, online learning and simulated work environment practice.
Classroom Learning includes lectures supported with visual topic content, PowerPoints, practice, group and oral work. Your materials are provided either in print or digital copy that can be accessed as part of the course.
Online Learning requires you to complete additional online study each week. This learning is tailored to the follow the units you are completing in class. This includes reading topics, research and additional materials.
Simulated Work Environment
Over the duration of the course, students will complete a range of nail services to demonstrate skills and knowledge of the course.

Our course has been designed to meet the requirements for the SHB30315 Certificate III in Nail Technology.

Assessment
Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. To perform at your best, you will need to work on the assessments outside of class time. Assessment methods may include:

Practical demonstrations where you will be observed by one of our assessors in a simulated environment and in your work placement

Knowledge based tests which contain written short answer questions

Projects for you to investigate and complete in your own time.

Logbook from work placement signed by your supervisor contributes to assessment
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer
AMBI recognises certificates and statement of attainment issued by other registered training organisation and the skills and knowledge that students may have gained through any previous studies and at workplace and life experiences. RPL and credit transfer can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation. A fee is payable for assessing your RPL status.
Course Completion
Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in SHB30315 Certificate III in Nail Technology. Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a SHB30315 Certificate III in Nail Technology.
