HLT52015 DIPLOMA OF REMEDIAL THERAPY

Course Description

National Qualification Code: HLT52015 

The Diploma of Remedial Massage is designed for people wanting to specialise in remedial massage as a highly trained therapist who may be working with allied health professionals. Remedial Massage Therapists may be self-employed or work within a larger health service or clinical setting working with clients presenting with soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance, or restrictions in range of motion (ROM). This course is a blend of theory and hands-on practice in specialised remedial massage treatments in a clinical environment. The clinical practice will provide a solid foundation for employment in remedial massage services.

Our course has been designed to meet the requirements for the HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage. 

It contains 21 units of competency (16 core and 5 electives) and is delivered in the following terms:

Assessment 

Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. To perform at your best, you will probably need to work on the assessments outside of class time. Assessments methods may include:

  • Practical demonstrations where you will be observed by one of our assessors in the simulated massage clinic environment 

  • Knowledge based tests which contain written short answer questions

  • Projects for you to investigate and complete in your own time.

  • Logbook evidence recording the massage & remedial massage treatments and clients you have worked with in clinic.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AND CREDIT TRANSFER 

AMBI recognises certificates and statement of attainment issued by other registered training organisation and the skills and knowledge that students may have gained through any previous studies and at workplace and life experiences. RPL and credit transfer can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation.

 

COURSE COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage. Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a HLT42015 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and/or HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage.

Remedial Massage graduates could move on to further study at university level.
