Course Description

National Qualification Code: SHB50216

The Diploma of Salon Management covers the skills and knowledge you need to progress your career to managing a salon or operate your own salon. The salon management skills in the course focus on personal services including hairdressing or barber shops, nails and beauty salons, massage clinics and spas. Salon managers are responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of the business, including safety supervision and for planning, monitoring and evaluating the work of staff. Customer service is covered in the course as this is an essential part of a salon managers role.

Course Delivery 

  • The course is planned to consist of the following components:

  • Classroom learning

  • Online learning 

  • Work placement

Assessment 

Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. To perform at your best, you will probably need to work on the assessments outside of class time. Assessments methods may include:

  • Practical demonstrations where you will be observed by one of our assessors in a simulated environment and in your work placement

  • Knowledge based tests which contain written short answer questions

  • Projects for you to investigate and complete in your own time.

  • Logbook from work placement signed by your supervisor contributes to assessment 

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AND CREDIT TRANSFER 

AMBI recognises certificates and statement of attainment issued by other registered training organisation and the skills and knowledge that students may have gained through any previous studies and at workplace and life experiences. RPL and credit transfer can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation. A fee is payable for assessing your RPL status.  

 

COURSE COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in SHB50216 Diploma of Salon Management. Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a SHB50216 Diploma of Salon Management.

Our course has been designed to meet the requirements for the SHB50216 Diploma of Salon Management.
