The Certificate IV in Massage Therapy is designed for people wanting to become a Massage Therapist. In this role, you provide general health maintenance treatments. Massage therapists may be self-employed or work within a larger health service or related beauty salon or clinical setting. This course is a blend of theory and hands-on practice in general health maintenance massage treatments plus reflexology and aromatherapy massage. The clinical practice will provide solid foundation for employment in massage services.

Assessment
Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. To perform at your best, you will probably need to work on the assessments outside of class time. Assessments methods may include:

Practical demonstrations where you will be observed by one of our assessors in the simulated massage clinic environment

Knowledge based tests which contain written short answer questions

Projects for you to investigate and complete in your own time.

Logbook evidence recording the massage treatments and clients you have worked with in clinic.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AND CREDIT TRANSFER
AMBI recognises certificates and statement of attainment issued by other registered training organisation and the skills and knowledge that students may have gained through any previous studies and at workplace and life experiences. RPL and credit transfer can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation. A fee is payable for assessing your RPL status.
COURSE COMPLETION
Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in HLT42015 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy. Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a HLT42015 Certificate IV in Massage Therapy.
PATHWAYS
Massage Therapy graduates can move on to further study at AMBI to the Diploma of Remedial Massage.
