COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Certificate III in hairdressing will cover basic aspects of hairdressing relating to preparation of clients, styling, conducting salon financial transactions, recommending products and services and applying and removing hair coloring products.

This course reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to
provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use
discretion and judgment to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.

COURSE DELIVERY

The course is offered as a blended course with face-to-face, online learning and simulated work environment practice.​

Classroom Learning includes lectures supported with visual topic content, PowerPoints, practice, group and oral work. Your materials are provided either in print or digital copy that can be accessed as part of the course.​

Online Learning requires you to complete additional online study each week. This learning is tailored to the follow the units you are completing in class. This includes reading topics, research and additional materials.​

Simulated Work Environment

Over the duration of the course, students will complete a range of hair services to demonstrate skills and knowledge of the course.

ASSESSMENTS

Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. To perform at your best, you will need to work on the assessments outside of class time. Assessment methods may include:

Practical demonstrations where you will be observed by one of our assessors in a simulated environment and in your work placement

Knowledge based tests which contain written short answer questions

Projects for you to investigate and complete in your own time.

Logbook from work placement signed by your supervisor contributes to assessment

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AND CREDIT TRANSFER

AMBI recognises certificates and statement of attainment issued by other registered training organisation and the skills and knowledge that students may have gained through any previous studies and at workplace and life experiences. RPL and credit transfer can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation. A fee is payable for assessing your RPL status.

COURSE COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing. Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing.
